Research on George Hurrell

A few facts about these pictures is that they are all shot in black and white it is often a low key effect - high contrast lighting .In the picture, furthest to the left and right pictures have a shadow effect on the two people in the picture.Hurrell loves to use light in his work which gives the person in the picture a different tone of colour.Hurrell enjoys using simple poses but the way he adds light to it causes it to have a different effect on the person looking at the picture.Brief ArticleHurrell only took pictures of movie stars. You wouldn’t find his work in history books. He did not record the Great depression or the Dust Bowl, celebrate Hitler or Stalin. Hurrell was called the master of Hollywood glamour.“The most essential thing about my style was working with shadows to design the face instead of flooding it with light,”This quote by Hurrell shows that he enjoyed working with shadows to design the face which allows him not to use as much light in the picture. He doesn’t like to flood the pictures he takes with light.Hurrell like to do his own style and not copy other people. His ideas were modern and ideas which wasn’t used in the 20th century by other photographers.

Philip Bloom
Research on Philip Bloom's Blog.

The blog is about what he does as a videographer and the work he has gone with different links. He also has different sub links which allow people to see films, see reviews and see education videos about what he does and how he does it. Philip bloom is a photographer and videographer.
The blog is flowing in a way were it is simple to find things and has simple ways to find things. He has different sub sections where it allows people to click a title they want to read and the whole text shows up.  He has links to his social media as well on the top right of the blog. On the side on the blog he has links to where people can buy different equipment he used and links to shops which give him discounts.
I like the blog as the way it has been set out is aye catching as more people would want to see it. The way it is set out as well makes it easier for people to find things they want to so it’s easier for everyone who goes onto Bloom’s blog.

The way the blog is set out is helpful because his blog looks more eye catching and the way to find out all the social media is easier to find the things you want.

Afghan girl

Afghan Girl is a 1984 photographic portrait by journalist Steve McCurry which appeared on the June 1985 cover of National Geographic. The image is of an adolescent girl with green eyes in a red headscarf looking straight at the camera. This caused a spike in media over who the girl was, what was her name. They met again after 17 years but when Steve took the picture when the girl was young she was angry and she had never had a stranger take a picture of her. After when the National geographic team went back they went around Pakistan to find out where she lived by showing a picture of her, everyone knew who she was but not her name until they reached her school where one of the teachers told them what her name was. Her name was Alam Bibi.

Patrick Chauvel and Sergey Larenkov

Patrick Chauvel is an independent war photographer. He started when he was 17. He was born in France in 1943. He covered over 20 conflicts over the world, including the six-day war and the Vietnam war.
He also the author of some documentary movies.
After the death of Diana, he was stamping photographs from a speed camera showing a Mercedes entering the fatal tunnel.

Sergey Larenkov was a former sea pilot than turned into a photographer. He uses pictures from the past and present and merges them together.
Larenkov told us, “I take all the modern images myself because the most important part is finding the desired point to shoot… It's very interesting to find the point where another photographer once stood. Suddenly, you see an old world with your very own eyes. You are transported back in time, it's almost as if you've stepped into a time machine. Sometimes, this is scary.”
