Experimentation Evaluation
I enjoyed doing the first task which was Making a character
and drawing with a pen tool. I enjoyed it as it was something new to me and was
a fun starting task. This task allowed me to find out what I was good at and
what I wasn’t so good at. I enjoyed using photoshop as it was something I used
before but haven’t used since the end of year 11. If there was anything I could
improve is I would add more detail to the character, so it gives it a better
look e.g. adding eyelashes, maybe even facial hair.
On drawing with a pen tool,
I could draw simple pictures first and then more herded pictures which would
have help me with my understanding on using the pen tool.
Secondly, the Type Experiments went well. I enjoyed using
different tools to create different texts. The part I most enjoyed was when I was
using a knife tool to cut words up to give it a different look. It made me
start to use my imagination of which was should I cut the word and which way it
would look better. The part I struggled with until I got the hand of it was
type around a curve. This was because of new tool to get use to and applying it
was tricky. But after 5 minutes I got the hand of it and then it became easy
for me to do.
The task I liked the most was my low-key photography. I enjoyed
this the most because this allowed me to show my skills using Photoshop and a
camera. I could have improved this by creating more of a contrast on the
picture and the quality of the picture I have taken.
The hardest part of project one was to merge the two
pictures of old and new London. But that was because I wasn’t familiar using
two different pictures to merge something together. I found that hard to do as
it was something new to me. But now I know how to do it, it would be easier to
do.
The final piece of work was My Travel Log. This was about me
having to make a poster. I decided to make it on Dubai. If I could improve that
piece of work I would add more quotes and more clearer pictures. This will
allow anyone looking at my poster to understand what it is about clearer and
inform them better.
Production Evaluation
I think my production of my media passport went well, I enjoyed
creating the outside of my passport and in the inside. The part I had found
tricky was to create the inside background. This was because the background must
have a pattern which would be easily plagiarised, and the lines used must be a
light colour. Once that was done another hard part I came across was the
information inside of it. I could have
used different symbols on the front cover of my passport to give it a good
look.
My production of my new letter went well. I learnt new
techniques and how to use different programs. If I was to improve anything I would
include more information about the topic of the newsletter and even my own opinions
which would give the person reading it someone else’s perspective.
